The 1st Westgate-on-Sea Scout Group hosted a successful fundraising event at the Westgate United Services Club on Saturday evening, drawing a generous crowd of supporters. The event aimed to gather financial support to continue empowering young individuals by providing them with opportunities to overcome challenges, acquire new skills, and enjoy safe, adventurous experiences.

“We are grateful to see so many of you turning up to support our cause,” expressed a representative from the Scout group. “None of our efforts would be possible without the financial backing we receive, making fundraising events like this crucial for our Group.”

The highlight of the evening was the series of eight races, along with the lively piggy race, which garnered enthusiastic participation from both young visitors and adults alike. While the younger attendees rejoiced in winning Haribo treats, some of the adult participants were thrilled by winning more substantial prizes.

The Scout group extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Westgate United Services Club for providing the venue for the event. Additionally, they acknowledged the invaluable support from their race sponsors, including A1 Airport Transfers, Westgate Best Beno Cafe, I-Tan Westgate, Grand Garage (Margate), and J. Prentis Westgate.

Through the collective efforts of sponsors, participants, and attendees, the fundraising event successfully raised an impressive total of £457.70. These funds will contribute significantly to the ongoing initiatives of the 1st Westgate-on-Sea Scout Group, ensuring that they can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of young people within the community.
